Low-cost airline flydubai makes its return to the Croatian capital after a two-year break.
flydubai will replace its partner Emirates on the Zagreb-Dubai route starting this weekend. The airline will operate the service throughout the winter period until 30 March 2019, Ex-Yu Aviation News reports.
Despite the two-year hiatus, flydubai stressed that Croatia still remains an important market for them. Earlier this year the airline launched the first ever connection between Dubrovnik and Dubai, operating four weekly flights during the summer.
flydubai says that their partnership with Emirates will allow the latter to better cope with the traditional drop in demand over the winter.
“Focusing the network according to two carriers playing their role is working well. We haven’t finished that exercise by any stretch of the imagination”, Emirates President, Tim Clark, said in an interview earlier this month.
Flydubai will operate daily services to Zagreb with its 166-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
“The move will ensure that capacity is deployed to best serve customer demand by maximising the frequency for passengers during the winter season,” Flydubai said.
The Flydubai flights will be codeshared by Emirates. They will depart from Emirates’ Terminal 3 at Dubai Airport.
