“The Priest’s Children” Becomes Most Watched Croatian Film Of The 21st Century

Svecenikova djeca (The Priest’s children), a new Croatian comedy film about a priest from a Dalmatian island who in order to increase the islands birth rate starts punching holes in condom packets, became the most watched film of the 21st century in Croatia the weekend.
155,139 viewers have watched the Vinko Bresan film at cinemas across the country since it was released last month. The film overtakes Hrvoje Hribar’s 2006 hit comedy “Sto je muskarac bez brkova” (What is a man without a moustache).
The most watched Croatian feature film since the country’s independance is still “Kako je poceo rat na mom otok” (How the war started on my island) also directed by Bresan in 1996.
