VIDEO: Cro Cop beats Roy Nelson on Bellator debut

17 February 2019 – Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipović has defeated American Roy Nelson via unanimous decision overnight in his Bellator debut. 

The 44-year-old Croatian secured his 10th straight victory at Bellator 216 in Uncasville, Connecticut on Saturday night, when the judges scored the three-round fight 30-27, 29-28, 29-28 in Cro Cop’s favour. 

The revenge victory came almost eight years after the last time the pair fought in the UFC in 2011 which Nelson’s won. 

“Roy je tough, he hits hard. I would say that for me this was more mentally demanding than physically. It is always tough to fight a repeat when you lose the first fight,” said Filipović.
