25 April 2019 – The Croatian national team will celebrate the 100th anniversary of football club NK Omiš in Dalmatia by playing a friendly match next month there.
NK Omiš and the City of Omiš suggested to the Croatian football federation (HNS) to be part of the 100th birthday celebrations of the club.
HNS management and national team coach Zlatko Dalić accepted the invitation and the Vatreni will play NK Omiš on 31 May, 2019. The World Cup runners-up will use the match as a warm-up for their EURO 2020 qualifier against Wales in Osijek on 8 June.
The team will then head to Varaždin to play Tunisia in a friendly on 11 June.
The squad will gather on 29 May in Split where they will be based until the match in Omiš.
“We are looking forward to the match in Omiš, and we are delighted to be able to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the club that has given Croatia a few representatives, including Ivan Perišić. The match will fit into preparation for Wales because we want to get together a little earlier so players don’t have too much break of a break from the end of their championships,” Zlatko Dalić said.
