ZAGREB, 18 July 2019 – In the middle of June, Zagreb’s popular Art park project moved to a new location – Ribnjak park. The open-air street art gallery with music, film and sports events will remain at Ribnjak until the end of summer.
The new location for the project, which for the last three years was held at the small park between Tomić street, Ilica and Strossmayer promenade, has already proved to be popular. The open-air gallery, which was painted by nine Croatian artists, is a summer paradise in the city for table tennis lovers and a place where you can always catch a good DJ session, a free workshop, a film screening or just lazily chilling out on a sunny day. For these reasons, Art Park organisers have decided to stay at Ribnjak until September 8, giving visitors many reasons to continue visiting this green oasis.
“After a very successful revitalisation of the park in Tomić street, we managed to create the unique Art park atmosphere that people love and bring a piece of street art where it was not present. We also give our visitors an opportunity to stay in this beautiful city park for a little longer than just ‘taking the dog for a walk’. And during the implementation of the programme, we realised that there is still unfinished work on Ribnjak and lots of walls that we can beautify, so expect a lot of artistic surprises till September 8,”organisers said.
The programme at Ribnjak continues today with a warm up for the Freemental festival, whilst the WWF Adria’s Fish Forward project promoting sustainable fishing will be held on Friday 19 July from 5 pm. More details here.
On Saturday, 20 July, the Art park will host a workshop titled Name of Plants which will feature an afternoon flea market and jazz concert in the evening with the band Tinitus.
More about the programme at Art park Ribnjak can be found on the official website and Facebook page.
