Touching Oliver Dragojevic documentary closes 66th Pula Film Festival

PULA, 21 July 2019 – A touching documentary about the late legendary Croatian singer, Oliver Dragojevic, has closed the 66th edition of the Pula Film Festival in Pula last night.
Following the awards ceremony at the Arena in Pula, where Oliver Dragojevic often liked to perform, the audience of this year’s Pula Film Festival watched a documentary film and a recording of a concert by the beloved musician on the impressive big screen of the most beautiful cinema under the stars.
The documentary film was made from material recorded prior and during the anniversary concert OLIVER’s 70 with the Zagreb Philharmonic. Oliver himself was the host of the film, giving his most intimate interview ever, while his co-workers bring the viewers closer to the great, always modest and simple Oliver.
Branko Drakulić and Lea Dekleva are the authors of the film A Small Story of a Great Musician and His Last Concert. After the film, the audience in Pula enjoyed the recording of Oliver’s last concert from Arena Zagreb, held on 11 March 2017 with the Zagreb Philharmonic and many musicians (Stjepan Hauser, Matija Dedić, Antonio Serrano, and Elvis Stanić), conducted by maestro Alan Bjelinski.
Oliver Dragojevic passed away last July, aged 70.
During the awards ceremony, recognition for Best Croatian Feature Film was presented to the film The Diary of Diana B., directed by Dana Budisavljević. The film also won the Golden Gate of Pula Award which was awarded by the audience.
Golden Arena for Best Film was awarded to the film Rafaël, directed by Ben Sombogaart. You can see all the awards here.
