First Coffee Festival in Croatian Capital

Following in the footsteps of the hugely successful chocolate festival, Zagreb ChocoFest, Zagreb CoffeArt, the first coffee festival in the Croatian capital is set to take place from 18-21 October on the cities main Ban Jelacic square.
The festival is sure to prove popular with Croats, who lead the way in coffee consumption in Europe. According to statistics, Croats on average drink 5kg of coffee a year. In 2009, 22,500 tons of coffee was drunk in Croatia, equating to 2.25 million hours drinking time(half an hour per person per day).
The festival will also be a promotional event for a number of local and foreign coffee producers and importers. Together with Croatian and international coffee producers, professional barista’s, coffee-making equipment, coffee shop owners and coffee flavoured cakes, cigars, liqueurs and cocktails will be on display throughout the 4-day festival.
