VIDEO: Croatia captain Luka Modric celebrates 34th birthday 

BAKU, 9 September 2019 – Croatian football captain Luka Modric is celebrating his 34th birthday today and his teammates have the opportunity to give him the perfect gift. 

Modric will lead his side later this evening in their EURO 2020 qualifier against Azerbaijan in Baku but before that there was time for a bit of birthday cake as the midfielder celebrated his birthday at the team hotel.

Croatian team manager Iva Olivari done the honours of wishing Modrić happy birthday on behalf of the team. Olivari wished him all the best for his birthday, which she noted that he had spent more of celebrating in camp with his ‘second family’ whilst representing Croatia over the last decade and a half than he has with his own family.  

Modrić will play his 124th match for Croatia tonight.
