Croatian Company Wins Microsoft’s Best Startup Award

Monolith Group OU, a company in joint Estonian and Croatian ownership, has been honoured as the best “startup” project in Europe by internet giants Microsoft.

The company won the prestigious award for its innovative Monolith Advertising device. The device, which allows advertises the ability to transform existing advertising displays into smart and interactive tools.

“It is a great honour that a company like Microsoft for the first time recognised a Croatian startup project and in a short time put us amongst the top European technology companies,” said a proud Martin Birac, director and owner of Monolith Group OU, reported website poslovni.hr.

Birac and six other young innovators began the project in May 2012 and have already managed to partner with major corporate clients.

Monolith is a device built with Microsoft Kinect technology that senses motion and gestures and this allows media owners to build their advertisements in a very collaborative way, making the consumer an active participant. The device also gives advertisers real-time analytics about a particular ad.
