Russian Military Flying Over Croatia

Russian military inspectors started surveillance flights over Croatia today (Monday) as part of monitoring operations of surveillance equipment on board the Antonov An-30B aircraft as set out in the Open Skies Treaty.

Russian experts will conduct inspection flights over Croatia and Slovenia for the rest of this week, said the Russian Defense Ministry. They will take off from Zagreb Airport in Croatia before flying to Ljubljana Airport in Slovenia.

The Open Skies Treaty establishes a regime of unarmed aerial observation flights over the territories of its 34 member states to promote openness and the transparency of military forces and activities.
