This year over 1,100 international runners have registered.
The numbers for the marathon race were sold out almost 2 months before the race, organisers said at the press conference. The beginnings of the Split Half Marathon go back to 2001 when it was held for the first time. In the first years it was held exclusively in the area of Marjan Forest Park, and since 2007 it has been held with the start and the finish line on the Riva waterfront as part of St. Dujam’s celebration.
In 2015, the course is changed, it retains the start and finish line on the Riva waterfront, but is circular and through big part of the city and near all of its most interesting symbols.
From 2015 to 2020, the number of participants in the Split Marathon has grown from 382 to 4,000.
