Qatar Airways International Tournament featuring Croatia cancelled

ZAGREB, 11 March 2020 – The Qatar Airways International Tournament, which Croatia was due to take part in later this month has been cancelled, the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) has confirmed.
The Qatar capital Doha was to host the 4-team international tournament, featuring Croatia, Portugal, Belgium, and Switzerland, but on Wednesday afternoon it was announced that the tournament would not go ahead due to the COVID-19 outbreak around the globe.
“Due to current situation worldwide, Qatar Airways International Tournament in Doha has been cancelled,” HNS said.
The Croatian Football Federation said they would shortly advise plans for the national team during the international break later this month.
Croatia was due to play Switzerland in the first match of the tournament on 26 March and Portugal on 30 March as preparation for Euro 2020, but that tournament currently hangs in the balance.
