ZAGREB, March 18 (Hina) – Hospitals in Croatia will be allocated an additional 400 million kuna due to the epidemiological situation caused by the novel coronavirus epidemic, the Croatian Health Insurance Institute (HZZO) Steering Board decided on Wednesday.

The additional funds are designed to help improve the functioning of hospitals and ensure their timely and optimal supply with drugs and other medical material.

The HZZO also amended rules on conditions to exercise rights stemming from mandatory health insurance in the case of a work injury or professional disease to include the possibility of exercising those rights on the basis of an acknowledged professional disease if that disease is contagious, from the day of its onset.

The rules were amended in line with the government’s measures adopted in the context of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
