Croatia reports 14 new cases in last 24 hours, businesses to start opening on Monday

ZAGREB, April 26 – There have been 14 new COVID-19 cases reported in Croatia in the last 24 hours, the national crisis management team said at Sunday’s press conference.
Today’s new cases bring the total tally of cases to 2,030. Since late February, Croatia has conducted 31,622 tests, including 709 in the last 24 hours, and the percentage of positive cases is 6.42%.
There has been one more COVID-19-related fatality in the last 24 hours. The latest victim was a patient born in 1951 with a chronic underlying health condition. Currently, the death toll stands at 55.
The latest data shows that 314 patients are being treated in hospitals, two fewer than yesterday. The number of patients on ventilators is 23. There have been 1103 recoveries to date, 60 more than yesterday.
A total of 13,461 people are in self-isolation.
Croatia is set now to begin the first phase of relaxing lockdown measures.
What will open in from Monday, 27 April in the first phase of easing lockdown measures
- All business entities engaged in trade activity shall be allowed to work, except those operating within shopping centres.
- It is possible for all business entities engaged in service activities, except for those in which there is close contact with clients, to commence working but they must respect the measures of physical distancing (eg carpenters, tailors, key cutters, travel agencies, photo studios…)
- City and suburban public transport lines and high-speed catamaran lines for islands not connected by ferries will commence again.
- Libraries, museums, galleries, antiques, and bookstores can open.
- Training for first and second category athletes can commence in individual sports and senior sports teams performing in the highest level of competition.
- It is possible to conduct state exams for priority groups of students.
