Agreements for digitisation of Croatian Employment Service signed

ZAGREB, May 12 (Hina) – Agreements for the digitisation of the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) valued at HRK 93 million, which should make HZZ’s activities simpler and more efficient, were signed in the Ministry of Labour and Pension System on Tuesday.

“The e-HZZ project is part of a set of measures to reform public administration that will contribute to the economic and sustainable development of Croatian society. One of the government’s priorities is to provide digital public administration services that are more accessible to citizens,” Minister of Labour and Pension System Josip Aladrovic said.

Digitisation in fact has helped to overcome part of the coronavirus crisis as simply as possible, he added.

Currently there are 160,000 people registered with the HZZ as active jobseekers and about 43,000 of them receive an unemployment allowance.

This project will upgrade existing applications, create new ones and ensure new processes and network channels as well as provide 10 new services, he said and added that the system will monitor the development of competencies and skills so that Croatia’s labour market can be more competitive.

The project is cofinanced from the European Social Fund (ESF) as part of the operational programme for efficient human potential 2014-2020.

During the term of this government, HRK 14 billion has been made available, of which HRK 8.8 billion has been contracted, which goes to show that ESF is creating a better social environment, said Aladrovic.

From October 2016 to May 2020, a total of HRK 5.2 billion from the ESF has been paid out to beneficiaries.

This latest project is valued at HRK 93.5 million, of which HRK 79.5 million from ESF and HRK 14 million from national funds. The project will last for 42 months.
