PAG, 12 July 2020 – The Croatian island of Pag is the first island in the Adriatic to have an official programme of sports activities for recreation during the summer.
During July and August, a number of sporting events from cycling, Nordic walking, trail, kayaking, windsurfing, running, walking and quad riding is available across the island.
The program began on July 10 and ends on August 28.
Pag Outdoor Summer Weekend is a cooperation between the Association of Kissa and Run Croatia and is supported by local tourist boards who have joined forces.
“This year, when most of the events were canceled, we designed an ideal active vacation on Pag, for which the island has excellent prerequisites,” organisers said.
The Pag Outdoor Summer Weekend project is a concept of active tourism that will be held with licensed experts who have experience in various forms of active tourism.
The project involves the Tourist Board of the City of Novalja, the Tourist Board of the City of Pag, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Kolan, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Povljana and the Tourist Board of Stara Novalja, the City Society of the Red Cross Pag, the Sports Association of Pag and coaches Ante Radić, Ante Čemeljić, Robert Novak, Berislav Sokač, Silvija Zoković, Danijela Bucić and Kristina Alaburić.
Run Croatia and the Kissa Association are responsible for the design, development and implementation of the concept. Technical director Sven Veronek and the Protime team have agreed on a platform on which those interested can reserve a place in an activity. After the training, there are refreshments and socialising.
