State To Pay Gotovina’s Wife 700k For Wrongful Dismissal

The wife of acquitted Croatian general Ante Gotovina is set to receive a 700,000 kuna (92,000 euros) compensation pay out for wrongful dismissal from her job at the Ministry of Defence, reports Jutarnji list.

Dunja Gotovina, who was an army officer, started to experience problems in October 2004 whilst working at the Military Academy, the same time that her husband Ante was ‘on the run’ from Hague authorities. After being released from her job Gotovina decided to take court action and won the case.

Apart from the compensation money, Dunja has been offered to go back to work at the Ministry of Defence or return to a job in another state service sector.
