American Oil Giants ExxonMobil Interested In Croatian Coast

Croatia’s Economy Minister has confirmed that American oil giants ExxonMobil have shown an interest in investing in Croatia.
“When we presented our intentions they showed interest in coming to Croatia for the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas on our Adriatic coast,” said Minister Ivan Vrdoljak from America where he is currently on an official visit.
Vrdoljak says for the plan to be realised Croatia would have to fulfil some requirements, such as introducing new laws regarding exploration and exploitation of oil and gas. Croatia would then have to open up a tender which ExxonMobil would participate in.
The Minister says that a company of the magnitude of ExxonMobil showing interest in Croatia is of great significance. “Firstly for the exploration and exploitation they ould employ Croatian people, industry and shipyards, and secondly, it sends a message to other American investors that Croatia is a developing country that manages its resources wisely and that the security of their investment is guaranteed,” Vrdoljak.
