A Fair Indoor Side In The Name Of Charity

Locals in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek had the opportunity last night to witness some former legends show off their old skills when players from Croatia’s legendary 1998 World Cup side played a charity indoor football match against a local selection from the Slavonia region.

Players from Croatia’s 3rd placed World Cup team, which featured amongst others Croatia’s current coach Igor Stimac and his assistant Kruno Jurcic, played against a Slavonian selection which included Croatia’s famous K1 star Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, Osijek Mayor Kresimir Bubalo, showbiz stars and well-known Osijek footballer Robert Spehar.

The football extravaganza was a charity event to raise money for the Krizan family. Nada Krizan lives in a village in Slavonia with no income in a wrecked house that was destroyed in the war with her five sons, after her husband was killed fighting in the war.
