Slavonia and Podravina will mark World Tourism Day with promotional ticket prices way for the biggest attractions from September 26 to October 2.
If you want to visit the Janković castle in Suhopolje, hear and see how and that noble family lived, find out why Ilka Janković did not let her husband, Count Elemir, into the matrimonial bedroom for a while, discover the Drava story in Noskovci, where, among other things, there is a recovery centre for white storks, or what Papuk looked like during the Carboniferous swamps, then you can take advantage of the offer to mark World Tourism Day in Virovitica-Podravina, the northern Slavonian county in Croatia.
In the period from September 26 to October 2, tickets for all attractions of cultural, historical and natural heritage – and they are worth visiting – you will pay only 20 percent of their usual price.
“On the occasion of celebrating World Tourism Day on September 27, the Virovitica-Podravine County Tourist Board provides all visitors with an 80 percent discount on tickets for museums and visitor centres in the Virovitica-Podravine County area,” says Martina Jakelić, director of the Virovitica-Podravine County Tourist Board.
It is an ideal opportunity to visit the Visitor Centre “Dravska priča” in Noskovci, the Visitor Centre “Dvorac Janković” in Suhopolje, the Interpretation Centre “Peter Preradović’s House” in Grabrovnica, whose exhibition is dedicated to the life and work of the great poet.
The promotional destination package also includes a visit to the Geoinfo Centre in Voćin and the Pjeacevic Castle, now the City Museum in Virovitica.
To experience the artistic heritage of the Baroque, which is stored in the monastery treasury of the parish of St. Rok in Virovitica, there is no entrance fee, but advance notice is required.
Visitors in Slavonia and Podravina can also enjoy river fish specialties on the mystical Drava island of Križnica, reconnect with nature on Jankovac, visit the papal basilica of Our Lady of Voćin in Voćin, try locally produced craft beer in Pitomača, and there is a rich selection of wines at every turn.
At the end of your autumn journey in this part of Croatia, be sure to sweeten the irresistible sweets of award-winning confectioner Sandra Jadek.
