With the summer heat in full swing, both tourists and locals in Zagreb can find much-needed refreshment at the city’s numerous public water pumps.

These fountains not only provide a vital source of drinking water but also offer a convenient way to stay cool during the hottest months.

The City of Zagreb currently has 166 public drinking water pumps in operation.

For the first time, these pumps have been systematically mapped, and a comprehensive map detailing all 166 locations is now available to the public.

“During periods of intense heat, these public fountains offer essential refreshment and hydration. The city plans to install 17 new fountains each year, with one in each city district, as well as to design new standardised fountains,” the City of Zagreb said.
