Legendary British actor Christian Bale, best known for his role as Bruce Wayne in Batman, is currently enjoying a holiday on the Croatian island of Mljet.
The news was shared on Instagram by a local bike rental company Mljet Aloha Rent A Bike, who rented a bike to the actor renowned for his versatility and dramatic physical transformations.
“We believe that this famous actor, like many other celebrities who have visited Mljet, come to enjoy the natural beauty of our island,” the Mljet Tourist Board said.
Mljet, the southernmost and easternmost of the larger Adriatic islands in Croatia’s Dalmatia region, features an unspoilt National Park.
Bale’s career began with a breakthrough role at age 13 in Steven Spielberg’s “Empire of the Sun” (1987).

He gained wider recognition with his performances as Patrick Bateman in “American Psycho” (2000) and in “The Machinist” (2004).
Bale achieved global fame portraying Batman in Christopher Nolan’s “Batman Begins” (2005), “The Dark Knight” (2008), and “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012).
His performances in this highly successful trilogy solidified his status as a leading actor. Beyond Batman, Bale starred in a variety of films including “The Prestige” (2006), “Terminator Salvation” (2009), and “Exodus: Gods and Kings” (2014).
He won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for his role in “The Fighter” (2010) and received further nominations for “American Hustle” (2013), “The Big Short” (2015), “Vice” (2018), and “Ford v Ferrari” (2019).
