Traditionally Croats have been big winter holidaymakers. The number of who travel off abroad is estimated at between 150,000 and 200,000, with a large percentage booking their skiing holidays through agencies, and going in the week from 3-10 January. Apart from Austria and Italy, Slovenia and France are other popular destinations among Croats this winter.
