A record traffic weekend for Croatia’s main gateway to the Dalmatian islands…
Over 50,000 passengers and 8,000 vehicles passed through Split terminals this weekend heading for the Dalmatian islands, making it the busiest weekend of the year.
“Today we had 34 ferry lines and 9 catamaran lines, but because of the large number of travellers, we had to introduce another connection to the islands of Brač and Šolta,” said Jadrolinija’s Ante Mrvica to Hina.
This weekend also has seen record numbers making their way to the islands of Hvar and Brač. Mrvica does not expect the record to last very long and expects it to be broken the next two weekends in a row.
Meanwhile at Split Airport on Saturday there were 107 commercial flight arrivals and a number of smaller aircrafts which landed.
“We expect around 27,000 passengers passed through Split airport in both directions today, which is a daily record this year,” said Dragan Peljić from Split airport.
Like Mrvica, Peljić says that the next two weekend are expected to be the busiest of the year.
