One of Europe’s most powerful politicians, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, will arrive in Croatia today, where she will meet with President Ivo Josipović and other south-eastern European leaders…
Merkel and Josipović will be joined in Dubrovnik by the President’s of Albania, Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia, as well as the European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger. The group have gathered in the southern Dalmatian town for the yearly ‘Hills-Brijuni Congress’.
The current political situation in the region, the EU’s enlargement policy, infrastructure projects in the region, and the energy policy, will be on the agenda at this year’s meeting with the Adriatic-Ionian motorway, and the Munich-Istanbul railway corridor at the top of the list.
