27 December 2018 – Residents of the small village of Dračevica on the Croatian island of Brač got an unexpected gift this Christmas.
All 59 residents in the village, from the youngest to the oldest, were gifted a 500 kuna voucher for Christmas which they can use in shops from a kind-hearted person who wished to remain anonymous.
According to daily 24sata, locals of Dračevica know who the ‘secret Santa’ is but will respect his wishes to remain anonymous.
“We found out only that the secret donator has helped Dračevica out in the past and he is connected to the village but does not live there;” 24sata writes.
Local villager, Šimica Žuvić, said all 59 residents found out last month that they would receive the gift.
“We found out that we would get the gift in November, and of course all of us are delighted and grateful. Everyone got the voucher, from the youngest child of 2 and a half years, to those who are older than 90. Only those who live permenantly in the village got the gift, which there are exactly 59.”
