Yet another shopping mall is ready to open its doors in Croatia, bringing the tally to 53 and putting Croatia near the top of the list in Europe for square metres of shopping mall space per capita.
City Colosseum will open on 11 April in the eastern Croatian city of Slavonski Brod. The new mall, which cost around 53 million euros to construct, will also have a cinema. 88% of retail space has already been purchased in the 23,000 square metre centre, as investors appetite for shopping malls in Croatia continues despite the nations relatively low purchasing power.
With 4.4 million inhabitants, Croatia has a per capita purchasing power of just over 4,500 euros. There are more shopping malls planned for Croatia too, with 10 projects alone in Zagreb. If they get completed though is another story.
