ZAGREB, 16 March (Hina) – Croatian national football player Ante Budimir (33) has recently taken about 120 Osasuna employees out for lunch after becoming the club’s all-time top scorer in Spain’s top football league.

On 3 March, Budimir scored a goal for Club Atlético Osasuna in a 3-3 draw with Valencia, bringing his total to 58 goals in the Spanish league for the Pamplona-based club. With this goal, he surpassed Sabino Andoneguía, who had scored 57 goals between 1953 and 1964.

Immediately after the match, Budimir stated that this achievement was not just his, but also that of all the club’s employees and fans.

This past Thursday, he took the club’s directors, president, coach, training camp staff, chefs, and cleaning staff to a restaurant in Pamplona.

“Today we had the honour of serving lunch to celebrate the 58 goals for Osasuna layer Ante Budimir,” announced the Alhambra restaurant on Instagram.

“Budimir wanted to celebrate with all his teammates, coaches, directors, staff, and workers of the club,” they added.

The restaurant staff took a photo with the Croatian striker, who has been playing for Osasuna since October 2020.

Budimir wanted the event to be low-key, but the media found out about it.
