19 July 2020 – Croatian striker Ante Rebic has found the back of the net once again for his club AC Milan on Saturday and in doing so has become the third top goalscorer in Europe’s big five leagues in 2020.
Rebic scored his 12th goal in 2020 in AC Milan’s 5-1 thumping of Bologna in the Serie A last night. The 26-year-old Vinjani native has been prolific this year, scoring 11 goals in 16 rounds in Serie A and one goal in the Coppa Italia.
Only Robert Lewandowski (Bayern) and Erling Haaland (Dortmund) have scored more goals in 2020 in the top leagues in England, Germany, Spain, France and Italy. Only counting league goals in 2020, Haaland has 13 goals, Lewandowski 12 and Rebic 11.
There is a good chance Rebic can overtake both players with the German league over for the season and four rounds still left to play in Serie A.
Rebic signed a two-year loan deal with AC Milan from Eintracht Frankfurt in September 2019.
After spending the first half of the season on the bench, having played more minutes for Croatia than the club, Rebić scored his first two league goals in a 3–2 victory over Udinese on 19 January 2020.
