Do Croatians living around the world think differently than those living in Croatia? Not according to results from the diaspora after Sunday’s referendum. In nations where Croats are living around the world, 13,482 voters turned out, with 11,078, or 82% voting ‘For’ marriage as a union between a man and a women, with 2,346, or 17.4% voting ‘Against’. 91% of voters in Australia voted ‘for’, 96% in Bosnia and Herzegovina and 92% in Canada. In Croatia 65% of the 37% of voters who turned out voted ‘for’ and 33% voted against.
In Japan, all 26 Croatians living there who went out to vote yesterday all voted ‘Against’ marriage being defined as a union between a man and a woman, whilst also in India 100% of the 7 voters voted in favour of same-sex marriage.
