Art park circus coming to Ribnjak in Zagreb

ZAGREB, 14 June 2022 – The Art Park project is back and will be located in Zagreb’s Ribnjak Park this summer next to the Ribnjak Youth Centre.

For the seventh time, the popular summer event will bring together numerous artists under the name “The Last Circus at Ribnjak”.

Art Park opens on the weekend of June 17, 18 and 19, 2022, when visitors can expect a great music program, a good circus show and a new street art gallery.

“The fun colourful circus was our guiding thread, and our circus rug will make sure that this edition of the Art Park is cheerful, relaxed and filled with a variety of creative programs for all the senses. We were inspired by the saying ‘Enjoy as if it were your last time’, so the idea is to have fun with this intensity during these months of the Art Park program at Ribnjak, said Boris Bare, one of the organisers of the Art Park and artistic director of the project.

In addition to the new street art gallery created this year by talented Croatian artists Marin Remić and Popilome from Jutarnja Šetnja and Vedran Štimac and Glitch Boy, two new art labels Art Park beer created in collaboration with Pivovara Medvedgrad will be presented.

“We have been cooperating with the Art Park team led by Boris Bare since the beginning of their activities. This way of promoting Zagreb and Zagreb legends fits into the Medvedgrad story that we try to tell through the labels of our beers. We started the collaboration from the Pimp My Pump project and through the first Art Park in the famous ‘narkić park’ near Zagreb’s Uspinjača, we continued all the way to Ribnjak and we hope that this great collaboration will continue and expand in the future. And not only through the Art Park, for which we cook a drinking Vienna lager every year, whose bottle bears the signature of a new artist every year, but also through other projects,” said Ivan Nauković, head of marketing and sales at Pivovara Medvedgrad.

Visitors can expect aa three-day program during the opening weekend.

Jeff Jarunsky, Kuna and Zac will play dance music on Friday (June 17th), and on Saturday (June 18th) the Velvet Festival team will take us to the sea with selected disco and jazz rhythms, announcing their sunny extravaganza that will take place from 30 June – 2 July on Krk.

Sunday (June 19) is designed as a fun family day with the Popiño Circus Show coming to the Art Park from Venezuela, which will be preceded by a small workshop of circus secrets for children and their parents. The workshop is free and open, and the program starts at 6 p.m.

After the weekend, the Art Park on Ribnjak will be open daily for socialising from 4 pm, until July 17, 2022. In addition to the regular music program, visitors can expect a good documentary on Mondays in collaboration with Dokukin, followed by the celebration of World Music Day, Pedalafest, creative OMart program for children, workshops in cooperation with the CIRKUS Punkt Theater, a visit to the KNAP Center, talks on recycling led by Ditch Plastic, and part of the program “July without plastic” led by the Green Action will also take place in the Art Park.

Adults will enjoy recycling workshops in July, and a favourite Flea Market and various presentations by local creatives are also planned. A table tennis table will traditionally be a part of everyday relaxation and entertainment in the city centre.
