AUS-NZ Croatian Women in Leadership celebrating 5 years with SUMMIT 2024 in New Zealand 6-8th September, 2024
From September 6 to 8, 2024, to mark their 5th anniversary, the Australia-New Zealand Croatian Women in Leadership organisation will hold its 2024 Summit in Auckland, New Zealand.
There, they will celebrate the success of professional women of Croatian heritage from New Zealand, including a particular focus on the special relationship between the Māori and Croatian settlers.
The highlight will no doubt be a procession of Croatian women, led by Māori-Croatian leader Dame Naida Glavish, onto the tribal Māori marae meeting grounds.
They are exited to bring one of our best lineup of speakers ever and privileged to have Zdravka Bušić– Member of the Croatian Parliament, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee for Croatians Abroad and Vice President of the Croatian Democratic Union joining them for the summit.
Representation from the New Zealand Government is expected at the Summit, and a high-profile panel of female politicians of Croatian heritage from New Zealand and Australia has been confirmed.
They will have a particular panel “Women of the People” that includes New Zealand Members of Parliament Tanya Unkovich and Camilla Belich, and the Mayor of Port Lincoln South Australia, Diana Mislov. Other panels include our “Corporate Trail blazers”, “On top of her GAME”, and “Collaborative Innovators”.
As they celebrate 5 years, some of the success of the network include the Mentor Program which is facilitated by Marianne Perkovic CHAIR of Fashion Council Australia, amongst other things.
The program has run over the last 3 years and lead by some world class Mentors giving the opportunity for members to gain invaluable experience and connect with other like minded women. Included in the Summit is a Mentor panel to discuss the success and outcomes of some the group.
Another success is the “Young Women’s Network” – the next generation of leaders. These YWN Leaders represent every State across Australia and New Zealand who meet monthly and run their own programs. They also will be represented in a panel at a Sunday breakfast.
Australia-New Zealand Croatian Women in Leadership organisation was co-founded H.E. Betty Pavelich, Croatia’s Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand and by Sonja Palic in 2019, with the aim of connecting professional women of Croatian heritage from across Australia and New Zealand.
Today, the network has a reach of thousands of women worldwide and has become a valuable platform for the promotion of business opportunities, Croatian culture and the mentoring of future generations of women leaders of Croatian heritage.
Last July, the organisation held a memorable Summit in Biograd na Moru in Croatia and they were warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Plenković and members of the Government of the Republic of Croatia in Zagreb.
