ZAGREB, 8 January 2020 – A celebrated Australian artist of Croatian descent will exhibit in the Croatian capital Zagreb to coincide with Australia Day later this month.
The works of Australian-Croatian artist Vesna Peko-Luketić, together with The Program of Croatia – Australia, a Meeting of Cultures, will open at Mimara Museum in Zagreb on 23 January.
The art exhibition will coincide with Australia Day which is officially observed on 26 January. Peko-Luketić lives in the Australian state of Victoria and is a renowned artist who has exhibited her work internationally.
“My goal has been to capture light, sound energy and movement in infinite space, an entity that I choose to refer to as ‘the 4th dimension’. I am interested in depicting energy through the movement of light. I wish to capture the feeling of infinite space, harnessing the sensation of voids inherent to matter, that is, particles of light,” Peko-Luketić says.
The Australian Embassy in Zagreb has been invited to attend the exhibition and program which will remain open until 3 February 2020.
