Marin Cilic reached the quarterfinal at the Australian Open for the first time in seven years with a four-set win over Pablo Carreno Busta.
The 6th seed came back from a set down to take the match 6-7, 6-3, 7-6, 7-6.
Cilic broke Carreno Busta in the 8th game of the first set to go 5-3 up but was broken straight back. With both players then holding serve the first set went into a tie-breaker. Carreno Busta picked up two mini-breaks to take the first set 7-6.
It was the first set the Croatian had lost all tournament.

Cilic put the disappointment of the first set quickly behind him as he broke the Spaniard in the third game of the second set to go 2-1 up, he confirmed the break to lead 3-1 and this time he would not let the advantage slip as he levelled the match at one set all.
The third set went Cilic’s way in a tie-breaker after both players broke each other.
