World Cup Brazil euphoria started to hit Croatia last Friday when the draw was made for the group stages of football’s biggest event, and now the nation’s banks are getting in on the action…
OTP banka, which is one of the largest independent financial services providers in Central and Eastern Europe and headquartered in Hungary, has designed a special package to try to lure in football-mad supporters in Croatia. OTP’s “Samba Credit” is offering Croatians simple cash loans to get themselves to Brazil to watch their side in action. Daily newspaper Vecernji list reports that the word on the street is that other banks will follow suit. Fans will need at least 20,000 kuna (cca 3,000 EUR) to follow their side in Brazil.
