BBQer Starts Hvar Fire

A 46-year-old keen BBQ-er has been blamed for causing a fire which burned around 100 hectares of forest near the village of Zastrazisce on the island of Hvar. Daily Slobodna Dalmacija reports that the wind spread flames around three kilometres as the man prepared a BBQ on Thursday morning. Canadair planes and firefighters battled the blaze into the evening before getting the fire under control. Portal Total Hvar managed to capture some photos of yesterday’s blaze. See more.
