The most enjoyable thing to do in Zagreb during warm spring and summer days is to slowly drink coffee, a glass of wine or cold crafted beer while sitting in the shades of one of the many charming terraces. In Zagreb, you will find plenty of natural shade which makes these terraces the perfect spot to take a break.

Small charming cafe at the end of Tkalčićeva street which you don’t want to miss if you decide to explore the city. This terraces owners love to call flowery one – you can imagine why. Also here you can try a number of dessert coffees: with chocolate, Oreo cookies, strawberries and much more.
Also, try their original unique art coffee – colorful coffee! And it’s not even all about coffee here; every day they make freshly squeezed oranges and lemons from Croatian islands Vis and Hvar and some great small bites with local food as well.
Bacchus Jazz Bar

This green oasis you will find surrounded by old city buildings in one beautiful city yard. Natural shade makes this place perfect for a daily chill but in the evening its even more fun. Jazz concerts are played from Wednesday till Saturday. A lot of locals come here to support their friends or to discover some new fresh jazz and blues sounds. Good cold beer or some glass of good wine can make your evening pleasant and relaxing.

This small restaurant serves only Štrukli – a traditional Croatian specialty. Located in the very center of the city in its backyard it has a beautiful romantic terrace as a perfect gateway when you want to take a daily break. As for the Štrukli, this is what you need to know: Zagorski štrukli is a unique traditional Croatian dish served in most households across Hrvatsko Zagorje and Zagreb.
It is made from special dough and fresh cow cheese. There are two types of štrukli, one is called kuhani štrukli meaning boiled štrukli, and the other is called pečeni štrukli meaning baked štrukli.

Although Velvet is located in the center it’s a bit off the main Ilica street, surrounded by woods which makes it even more magical.
Medvedgrad Brewery

Medvedgrad brewery has been producing its own crafted beer for more than two decades and its run by one Zagrebian family. Their beers; pilsner Zlatni Medo, and Grička vještica, strong dark lager are among most popular beers in Croatia. Besides year-round beers they make some great seasonal ones like Summer in Zagreb which you have to try if you are a fan of fruity beer tastes. Although they have three pub locations in the city, the best one for this story is the one in Ilica street.
Big open-air terrace is perfect for relaxing and it can accommodate larger groups. People love to have lunch here cause they serve really good food paired very well with their crafted beer. Just find your perfect match on this popular terrace.
A Most Unusual Garden

If you want to explore Zagreb out of its center limits this is the place and like the name says it really is an unusual garden. After 20 minutes ride by tram or even better bike cause it’s a great long bike lane, you will reach this cute garden with a really cool atmosphere.
There are a couple of things why people love this place; in the center of the garden there is a treehouse so you can sip your coffee overlooking the world from the tree, many of the details in this place are made by young artists from the University of fine arts in Zagreb so that why it has this artsy touch and they have some really good gin here. So you can spend your time here either afternoon or evening – both will do its magic.
