One of the wealthiest Croatians, 67-year-old Beverley Hills based Mihajlo Perenčević, is interested developing elite tourism in Croatia by building a golf course on the Croatian island of Lošinj, according to daily Jutarnji list…
Perenčević, who emigrated from Croatia in the 1980’s and since has operated a gas pipeline business in Russia and businesses in London and the U.S, is hoping to attract elite tourism to the northern Croatian island by investing in a 5-star hotel complex and golf course. The investment, which is reportedly in the vicinity of 200 million euros, will also see Lošinj airport expanded to accompany large aircrafts, and a marina to accommodate mega-yachts. Perenčević, who is a keen golfer and reportedly friends with Vladimir Putin, has a connection with the island as it was his favourite summer destination. The development is located in the town of Mali Lošinj on the island.
