Fabijana Guzman Mileta from Bolivia has been crowned the most beautiful Croatian in national folk costume outside Croatia in a pageant held last night in Tomislavgrad.
The 11th edition of the pageant, which is organised by the Stećak Association with the Croatian Heritage Foundation, is aimed at connecting Croatians from all over the world, as well as preserving and promoting traditional Croatian culture.
The girls from all over the Croatian diaspora paraded on stage in costumes from all regions of Croatia, showcasing their love for the places their parents or grandparents hailed from.
Among them were also girls whose ancestors left the homeland centuries ago.
This year’s winner, according to the expert jury, was Fabijana Guzman Mileta from Bolivia.
“All the girls are beautiful, but I am very happy with this award! My great-grandfather was from Hvar, and for the past three years, I have been studying and learning Croatian in Zagreb. In Bolivia, we have a large Croatian community where we cherish our traditions and are proud of them! Croatia is undoubtedly beautiful, but the costumes are something I particularly love,” Fabijana said as Tomislavcity.com reported.
The second runner-up was Teodora Tašić from Kosovo, while the first runner-up was Barbara Pijuković, representing Croatian national costume from Serbia.
A total of 113,000 people voted for the beauties in national costume, and the award for Miss Photogenic went to Ana Vukić from Tolisa in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The crows was entertained by the singing group Klapa “Grga”.
