Ćorić, who is the youngest player in the ATP Top 100, has hired former Australian Open champion Thomas Johansson to be is new coach.
“Dear fans, I would like to inform you that my new tennis coach will be Thomas Johansson. I am excited to start working with an experienced Grand Slam champion. He will join my team at the ATP tournament in Nice,” Ćorić announced.
“I’m happy to start working with Thomas. He has been around on the ATP Tour for many years and has the experience and knowledge to help me achieve my goals. Having a Grand Slam winner in my team will mean a lot to me,” said the 18-year-old.
Sweden’s Johansson, who won the Australian Open in 2002, is also an Olympic silver medalist (doubles).
“Borna has been one of the leaders of the new generation we all have been waiting for in men’s tennis. His energy and tennis capabilities are impeccable and sometimes I forget he is only 18 years old. We will work on all aspects of his game and he will hopefully continue improving in the years to follow,” said Johansson.
