Brazilian Sammir Named in Croatian Football Squad

Croatian football coach Igor Stimac has named Dinamo Zagreb’s Brazilian midfielder Sammir in his squad to face Macedonia (12 October) and Wales (16 October) in World Cup qualifying matches next month.
The squad, which was announced on Thursday, features two new caps, Sammir and goalkeeper Darijo Kresic, who plays in Russia with Lokomotiv.
Sammir, who is the holder of a Croatian passport after being playing in Zagreb for more than 6 years, joins Eduardo da Silva as the second naturalised Croatian of Brazilian decent in the side.
The full squad is: Pletikosa, Subasic, Kresic, Corluka, Srna, Simunic, Schildenfeld, Strinic, Vida, Lovren, Pamic, Rakitic, Badelj, Kranjcar, Vukojevic, Modric, Ilicevic, Perisic, Radosevic, Sammir, Daa Silva, Mandzukic, Olic, Jelavic, Kalinic and Vukusic.
