British actress, television presenter, and author Julie Peasgood has visited the Kvarner region of Croatia for the first time and has been blown away with what she has seen, reports daily Novi list.
The former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star, who has a Royal Television Society award for TV person of the year under her belt, is in Croatia’s northern Adriatic to do a report for Britain’s Mail on Sunday about the region. The actress turned travel writer has been in Dubrovnik and Istria before to film for the TV show Wish you were here, but has been particular impressed with the Kvarner region.
“Wherever we go it’s a sight to behold, extremely friendly people and excellent food,” said Peasgood to Novi list, adding that the only gripe would be that there were no direct flights to the island of Krk from the UK.
“The sea is crystal clear, the food is amazing, the cheese on the island of Pag, the wine on the island of Rab, the olive oil, fish, and the excellent bread,” said Peasgood, who was particularly impressed with the old town of Krk on the island of the same name.
“It is beautiful, and undiscovered, it really is Croatia’s little secret.”
When asked how popular Croatia was a tourist destination in the UK, Peasgood said Croatia is talked about a lot in England and many who have visited say that Croatia is one of the nicest places to go for a holiday.
