Canadian Klapa to Tour Croatia

A Klapa group from Canada will tour Croatia this summer to perform in the Klapa singing…

Klapa music is a form of traditional a cappella singing from the Dalmatia region. The word klapa means ‘a group of friends’ and traces its roots to littoral church singing. In 2012 klapa was inscribed in UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Klapa Kartolina from Windsor, Ontario in Canada, which is made up of members Višnja Tijardović, Daniela Papac, Tina Pavičić, Bernardica Rodzik, Zoran Tijardović, Frank Pavičić and Dominik Tijardović, will tour Croatia this summer to perform three klapa concerts in Zagreb, Omiš and Kostanje in July.

“We are extremely happy to have the opportunity to perform in the birthplace of Klapa singing, therefore we are inviting you to come and enjoy our Croatian cultural heritage with us,” Klapa Kartolina say.

Klapa Kartolina Concert Dates:
July 10, 2016 (Sunday) – Zagreb – Susret mješovitih klapa u Lisinskom
July 15, 2016 (Friday) – Omiš – Večer Novih skladbi – Festival Dalmatinskih Klapa
July 16, 2016 (Saturday) – Kostanje – Koncert klapa ‘Pripovid o Dalmaciji’
