The popular Croatian coastal party spot – Carpe Diem Beach on Pakleni Island near the island of Hvar – has closed down its night parties.

Carpe Diem Beach announced on its Facebook page last night that they have been forced to stop hosting night party events.

Below is the statement in full.

Esteemed guests of Carpe Diem and Carpe Diem Beach,

We would like to inform you that, due to the current legal regulations that limit the noise levels of hospitality establishments, we are unable to host the previously announced nighttime programs at Carpe Diem Beach until further notice. We sincerely regret this situation and offer our apologies. Carpe Diem will comply with the law and legal guidelines and will continue with its daytime programs without any changes.

While we await a reasonable resolution to this issue, we wish to emphasize that our sole objective is to provide top-quality service to our guests. It is important to highlight that this decision in the middle of the season has a serious impact on our business, employees, and the local economy, calling into question the significant investments made in preparing for the season, pre-arranged international performances, and the direct and indirect employment of 300 people at the peak of the season.

For years, as hospitality providers, we have been advocating for the alignment of legal regulations with the actual needs of tourism supply and demand. If Hvar wishes to keep up with trends in modern tourism, local authorities, lawmakers, and hospitality providers must find common ground to avoid disappointing the tens of thousands of tourists who visit specifically for the offerings and services provided by many similar establishments in Hvar and the Paklinski Islands.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Best regards,

Carpe Diem and Carpe Diem Beach
