Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanović has paid an official visit to Estonia this week, where he met with Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Roivas…
The pair discussed bilateral relations and issues relating to the Schengen acquis, with Milanović saying that Croatia would apply for entrance into the Schengen zone on July 1 2015. The Croatian PM said that entering the Schengen area was important for the country, especially as Croatia relied heavily on tourism and said free movement of its guests from the European Union was important.
Milanović congratulated Estonia on winning a tender to supply patrol vessels to help Croatia police its borders. The tender was part of the EU’s “Croatia – Blue Border Surveillance – Phase II” programme and part of the Schengen acquis. The vessels were delivered in 2013 and have been controlling Croatia’s borders since. (photo / vlada)
