Cellars in the famous Pelješac wine region to open this weekend

Pelješac, November 28, 2018 – More than thirty wineries from all of Pelješac in southern Croatia will be part of this year’s Pelješac Cellars Open Days which will be held on 1-2 December.
Visitors will have to the chance to enjoy top-quality Plavac, splendid Maraština and Pošip from the most famous Pelješac wineries, traditional Dalmatian delicacies, and a party into the early hours of the morning at one of the big annual Dalmatian wine events this weekend.
Pelješac Cellars Open Days officially open on Saturday, 1 December at 11 am in Ston at Kaštija, after which wine lovers begin their traditional visit of wineries on the peninsula.
“According to announcements from Zagreb, Zadar, Split and our region, we expect around 4,000 visitors this year. Our manifesto is not just a top-class wine event, but also a recognisable tourist product which can attract tourists in the winter period,” the Plavac Mali association said.
This will be the 13th year in a row which the Pelješac Cellars Open Days has been held and is one of the biggest events of this kind in Dalmatia.
Pelješac is the second largest Croatian peninsula with a rich history dating back to the 7th century and stretches along the southern coast. The region is famous for its wines.
