Workers carrying our earthworks in a street in the old part of town in Makarska on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast have found human bones in a tomb stone dating back at least four hundred years on Monday.
Museum curators examined the find and say that the bones belong to at least two people from between the year 1500 to 1700. Experts say that it is likely that the bones belong to victims of the plague, as the deadly epidemic ravaged Makarska several time in history.
The bones will be buried in the town cemetery, reports rtl television.
