If you have spent anytime in Croatia then there is a good chance that you have tried a drop of Pelinkovac, the bitter-sweet Croatian liqueur…
Made from non-treated herbs from the Velebit mountain and wormwood (pelin in Croatian), Pelinkovac is one of Croatia’s most famous drinks. Amazingly the drink has a 150-year history, and is the focus of the first in a new series of tourist documentaries “Centuries-old Tales”, which will tell the stories of Croatian brands whose origins date back hundreds of years.
“Almost every tourist on vacation in a foreign country will look to try a local drink or cuisine in order to connect with all that the country offers. We show you that behind these products stands a rich heritage, and we will make a real promotion of the country, and tourists, besides memories, will take away a bag full of original Croatian products”, Lea Brezar, director of Dhar Media and producer of the series, said.
