Chinese New Year Off With A Bang In Zagreb

It is the most important festival of the Chinese calendar, and last night in the Croatian capital the Chinese community celebrated the Chinese New Year on Zagreb’s main Ban Jelacic square with a  five-minute firework display, traditional Chinese music and Croatian-Chinese cuisine.

 Chinese diplomatic and business dignitaries were joined by the President of Croatia Ivo Josipovic, former President Stipe Mesic and Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic and others to celebrate the ‘year of the snake’.
