CNN names Zagreb on world’s best Christmas markets in 2022 list

With Christmas just around the corner, and all the wonderful atmosphere that comes with it, CNN has released a list of best Christmas markets taking place in 2022.
Voted the best Christmas markets in Europe for three years running, Advent in Zagreb has now made CNN’s list of the world’s best Christmas markets.
“The Croatian capital really goes to town during advent. Think live nativity scenes, ice sculpture carvings, outdoor gigs, pop-up bars and a Christmas tram complete with Santa and his elves. Advent in Zagreb also has an area devoted to “fooling around” (or “fuliranje”) where you’ll find delighted revelers dancing in the street while eating street food and listening to live entertainment,” CNN writes.

Advent in Zagreb will be ushered in this year with the lighting of the first Advent candle on Ban Jelačić Square on November 26. Advent in Zagreb will last 43 days and take place at over 20 locations in the city, closing on January 7.
There will be three new locations this year during Advent – Dr. Franjo Tuđman Square, Grič Park and in the new pedestrian zone in Stara Vlaška street. Advent in the Zoo also makes its return this year.

Along with Zagreb, Christmas markets in Denmark, UK, Germany, Canada, USA, Finland and Sweden also made the list.
